At Original S.W.A.T.® we have two goals: #1) Build the best tactical footwear in the world #2) Provide exceptional customer service When we founded our company back in 1999, we set out to make a better boot for Law Enforcement, Military, EMT’s and others who work for a living.  We focus completely on tactical footwear for people who depend on their boots everyday. Most people would not or could not do your job. We understand that our customers do not work in an office, but in the desert of Afghanistan, the border near Nogales and every back alley, correctional institution and Main Street.  Yours is the kind of work that demands an elite group to be on their feet for 10, 12, even 14 hours a shift. We have designed and engineered our tactical footwear to help you perform on the job, while providing the all day comfort and support that you need. Original S.W.A.T.® has become known for our legendary combination of performance and comfort. At Original S.W.A.T.® we are constantly researching how we can improve our tactical footwear. We test our boots in the lab and in the field. We listen to our customers’ feedback. We analyze any returned boots. Everyday we are engaged in a continuous improvement cycle. We are constantly learning how to make our tactical footwear last longer and perform better. Our relentless passion that drives us here at Original S.W.A.T.® is to be your favorite pair of boots. We understand we are in a very competitive industry.  A quick Google search will turn up dozens of “Service” boot suppliers who started out making something other than tactical footwear: a major hand gun company, a basketball shoe company, a major tactical apparel company, a very famous running shoe company and even arguably one of the best eye wear companies in the world. Now they are making boots to sell to tactical and military operators.  We respectfully disagree with this approach.  We know tactical footwear. That is all we do, and we believe we do it better than anybody. We believe that having a single mission, a single focus allows us to have a significant advantage over our competitors. All of our resources are aimed squarely on making the best tactical footwear on the planet. Part of what makes our boots the best on the planet is that we respect the value of your hard earned money. Dromedaris International is a Swiss company with a sourcing office in Portugal.

This subsidiary, Dromedaris Portugal Calçado, Lda has recently extended its activities to include a highly efficient development/design department.

Our sourcing activities are international, but mainly concentrated in Europe. Portugal has become our main center of technology. Here we have all the necessary resources at our fingertips.

Our History
Dromedaris On a historic Christmas eve in the year 1651, a compact frigate named Dromedaris left the Zuider Zee and sailed for 3 ½ grueling months, without once touching land, to bring the first European settlers to South Africa.

From there, the ship sailed on to the Dutch East Indies and continued on laden with exotic spices and oriental goods between Europe and the East.

320 years later, Werner Wyrsh, a bally trained shoe technician, began his own adventurous travels from Europe to South Africa, taking with him shoemaking knowledge that would serve as a basis from which he could begin to build experience and continuous success.

His contribution to many well known brands such as Rockport, where he served for many years in an executive position, helped him establish a strong foothold in the international footwear market.

Ana de Pina started her career in the shoe business as a successful shoe buyer with some of the best known companies in South Africa. Her taste for colors and fashion combined with a great sense of merchandising soon gave her the reputation of being an important source of knowledge and inspiration, known and recognized the world over.

Inspired by the Dromedaris, Ana and Werner teamed up in 1992 to create a company that provides technical shoe manufacturing services at the highest possible level of reliability on an international basis.

For 15 years, Dromedaris operated as a sourcing company, proud to have served some of the best know brands, such as Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Colombia Sports, L.A. Gear, Brasher, Chaco, Dansko, and many more.

In 2007, Dromedaris decided to launch its own brand.

Making use of their experience, Ana and Werner developed the "3D Technology" which now serves as the basic concept for women’s collections that have a unique level of comfort, combined with the latest in European fashion. They also made it part of their mission statement to use highly ecological materials and manufacturing process in their shoes, and created the “Possibly the "Lowest Carbon Footprint" Shoes on Earth” concept.
